*Allusions mean a particular term refers to something different.
For example, saying “a person’s nose is growing” could imply Pinocchio or lying. To say “the sky is falling” could refer to Chicken Little or seeing everything as scary.

Jeep’s earliest memories were of his mother reading to him. Those were warm and happy times. Sharing stories together helped develop his imagination and sense of adventure. Is that true for you also?

Books remain Jeep’s favorite pastime. Since he reads so much, he notices if events in his life resemble scenes or characters from his favorite stories.

Spot the allusions

In the book, Jeep makes allusions to books and characters he’s read about. Did you spot some of them? Finding allusions is like an Easter egg hunt. Your mind is looking for connections between things all the time. How does this and that relate? What’s similar? What’s different? Noticing such associations reveals much more than just what’s in front of our eyes.
